Nadine's ambitions take another knock

Nadine Coyle and her fiance, Jason Bell, have had a knock back in Nadine's ambition to be the next Angelina Jolie. It seems Nadine was keen to adopt a Thai orphan but her application has been turned down. The knock has hit Nadine hard, after the rather feeble reaction to her solo career ambitions last year.
However, Nadine has picked herself up and has apparently found an alternative as she is taking part in a "big sister" scheme, where she gets to mentor an underprivileged child. No doubt Cheryl will be looking to make her own mothering achievements sometime soon then - subject to Ma Tweedy's approval, of course.

David settles back into London life

David Beckham doesn't seem to be able to stop smiling at the moment. He has been spotted out training with Tottenham Hotspur this week, and then enjoying a few pints down the pub with some of his team mates. However, his contract with LA Galaxy means he won't actually be able to play today when Tottenham face his former club, Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Victoria still hasn't been showing off much of a baby bump, although she has been looking a little tired as she keeps herself busy preparing for New York fashion week, and searching for a property in NYC so she can more comfortably split her time between LA, NYC and London. Still no news on the due date, but Celebritree reckons it will probably be a July baby.
If Victoria is feeling a little tired and drawn, maybe that would explain rumours of her falling out with her fellow Spice Girls. Mel B is supposedly in a mood with Victoria after she wanted to "borrow" some dresses from her friend's collection for her reality show, It's a Scary World. Apparently Victoria refused to lend her any, claiming that the sample sizes wouldn't fit curvy Mel. A source defended Victoria, claiming that Mel is known for borrowing stuff that she never returns.
Now it seems that Victoria and Geri have exchanged cross words - or rather not. Apparently Geri is keen to get her designer friend's advice for her new swimwear collection for Next. Victoria considers this rather beneath her own status and doesn't appreciate Geri's persistent calls, claiming that they are now "both designers" and so has started to ignore her voicemails and texts.
Be careful, Victoria, or you might have to chum up with felllow girl band outcast, Nadine Coyle!

Bride Wars

We all know that there is no love lost between Nadine Coyle and the other members of the band formally known as Girls Aloud. Now, Nads has been snubbed again as Sarah Harding prepares for her big engagement party at Mahiki. Apparently Nadine has been left off the guest list for the Treasure Island themed night.
Still, apparently Nadine is keen for revenge. She was (allegedly) hoping that a big celeb wedding would revitalise her flagging solo career, and is supposedly not keen on the fact that another GA member is threatening to steal a bit of her limelight. So, the plan is for a huge bash, to ensure her wedding tops any others that might be coming up. Mind you, Nadine, you need to tread carefully - if you want that 7 figure magazine deal, you had better make sure you've still got some celeb friends to invite!

X Factor backstage

Kimberley and Nicola were at the X Factor final on Sunday and dashed backstage to Cheryl's dressing room after the result was announced to console her for failing to win with one of her acts for the first time. The girls managed to bring a smile back to Cheryl's face - or perhaps she is just dreaming of her escape to LA where she will get to spend lots more time with Derek Hough / move in with Will.I.am, depending on which reports you read.
On the Girls Aloud front, Nadine's lack of success hasn't put off the girls - Kimberley is guest vocalling on Aggro Santos's new single (the one nobody knew from I'm a Celeb) and planning to release an album in the new year and Nicola is planning to take a break from fashion and make up (hmm probably best based on this photo) and work on some solo material too. So it really doesn't look as though Girls Aloud will be reuniting any time soon...
Elsewhere, it seems Konnie Huq has been fired from X Factor and top tips to replace her include Kimberley and Christine Bleakley...

Poor Nadine

Nadine is now back home in LA, taking comfort from her family, fiancé and pets after her debut solo album sold only 5,000 copies in its first week (suddenly the exclusive deal with Tesco doesn't seem like quite such a great scoop). Nadine and her dad were seen taking the dogs for a walk, with Nadine looking pretty glum. Apparently she had really hoped that her move to LA would really kickstart her career, but now she feels that she's going nowhere. Still, Nadine, at least you have a hunky fiance, Cheryl can't curl up with her career on a cold night... Not that Nadine will get many cold nights in California!

Girls Aloud - rapprochement?

Girls Aloud (minus Nadine - of course - she has slunk back to the States following the 'success' of her single) were out in force at the Mirror's Pride of Britain awards last night. Although Nadine was out of the picture, Girls Aloud fans will be pleased to hear that she has at last spoken to one of her bandmates. After seeing all of the other girls together on X Factor, Nadine held out an olive branch to Cheryl and the two got together at Chezza's house to have a good old chinwag and clear the air. However, it seems Sarah, Nicola and Kimberley couldn't make the peace talks. Still maybe there's hope of a reunion yet...

Nadine flops

Oh dear! Nadine has hardly set the world alight with her debut solo offering. Insatiable entered the charts today at a lowly number 26. Admittedly that's an improvement on her midweek position, but still is nowhere close to matching the hype. Meanwhile Shakespears Sister managed to enter the charts at number 12 with a song from 1992, Stay, after it was covered last week on X Factor by Cher Lloyd...

Nadine's much anticipated and much promoted single

flops dramatically! It's made only no 35 in the mid-week charts having only sold 117 hard copies. And only 2,500 electronic copies! EEEK Nadine! After all that promotion and anticipation...

Diet secrets of the stars

Kylie Minogue has recently dropped a dress size as she attempts to conquer America. Obviously she had quite a few spare pounds to lose... So what's her secret? An extreme water diet - involving just one low calorie meal per day and then keeping her appetite at bay with water flavoured with fresh lemon or lime. Hmm, sounds delicious. Oh, and when she fancies a treat, Kyles freezes her citrus water into ice cubes - apparently it makes her feel like she's enjoying an ice lolly.
Meanwhile, Nadine, who is often in the press for her skinny figure, has revealed she loves fry-ups and chocolate (presumably not on the same plate) and would love to have her own cookery show to demonstrate just how much she loves her food.
Perhaps they could both take some advice from Pamela Stephenson who has lost 2 stone on the Strictly Come Dancing hard core training regime. Probably slightly healthier than sucking ice cubes...

Nadine update

Nadine is hitting the promo trail hard as she prepares for the much anticipated release of her debut solo single, Insatiable.
Nadine was showing off her slim figure in a sparkly number as she performed at London's G.A.Y. nightclub last night and performed live on Paul O'Grady's chat show on Friday, after taking an apparent pop at Cheryl's X Factor performance last week as Nadine declared she would only perform on shows where she could sing live.
Nadine is also rumoured to be working on an autobiography and anything Cheryl can do, Nadine is trying to do better. Well as Cheryl's book revealed less than nothing, it won't be hard to produce something a little more scandalous. It seems Nads kept a diary during her Girls Aloud years and, now the girls have fallen out, her ghost writer has been given full access to some juicy titbits about the nation's sweetheart...

No congrats for Nadine

Poor Nadine Coyle is devastated that none of her Girls Aloud bandmates have been in touch to congratulate her on her engagement to Jason Bell. As Nadine busies herself on the promo trail, the other girls are deafening her with their silence. Some nasty rumours have it that the other girls see the engagement as a publicity stunt to support her new single. Another source says that Nads is desperate for her first solo single to be a success as she can't face the thought of going back to the band. Hopefully the raunchy video will do the business for her!
Meanwhile ex bandmate, Kimberley, has waxed lyrical in her column for OK magazine how much she loves Cheryl's new single and demure ballet video. Now Celebritree really does think that's a snub.

More news from Nadine

Nadine is certainly working that publicity machine at the moment, as she prepares to go head to head with rival, Chezza - her single is slated for release just one week after the nation's sweetheart's new offering.
It seems that the "mixed messages" from Girls Aloud may not have been quite as mixed after all. Speaking to Scott Mills on Radio 1, Nadine revealed that she had received no texts or calls from her bandmates in some months. She texted Cheryl to check that she was ok following the news of her malaria, but received no response. She says that her number hasn't changed so claims that the girls haven't been able to reach her, appear to be untrue...
And all this in-fighting occurs just when Nadine could do with some girlie mates - for Scott Mills noticed a big sparkler on her ring finger - and yes, it seems we have another celeb wedding to look forward to! Apparently Nadine and Jason Bell have got back together and he surprised her getting down on both knees whilst they were in their PJs back home in LA. Celebritree would have loved to see the Girls Aloud bridesmaids, but that's not looking likely now...

Mixed messages from Girls Aloud

As Nadine and Cheryl prepare to release solo material, rumour has it that they have buried the hatchet and the girls are talking again. It seems that Nadz has been hanging out in LA with Mel B, who has counselled her to be the better person, pick up the phone and make up. Still rumours continue that Nadine has no intention of performing with the band again. Celebritree does hope this solo material lives up to the hype Nadine. Or your solo adventures could be very lonely...

Chezza coming back to Blighty

Cheryl Cole is apparently "dreading" being apart from new "friend", Derek Hough. Alas, Chezza has to come back to the UK to fulfil her role on X Factor, whilst Derek is determined to win the new series of Dancing with the Stars as he has following up his success with Nicole Scherzinger with another dream partner - Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame. Cheryl also has a book coming out in time to get on everyone's Christmas list, Through my Eyes. It's mainly pictures, apparently, so not sure how many juicy revelations there will be about the other Girls Aloud, Ashley, Will.i.am and Derek...

Girls Aloud - remain estranged?

As Cheryl suns herself in California, picking up a transatlantic accent (allegedly - though hard to imagine Geordie with an American twang), Nadine is heading back Stateside, having laid down the tracks for her solo album (at last - after all that talk, there's finally some action!)
Nadine said goodbye to some bloke on her own doorstep (he was wearing a towelling robe and in her house, so obviously a story there), then headed to Heathrow, showing off her very slim legs in some shiny leggings. It's been a bit of a fleeting trip back to London - just under a week - and was doubtless very busy, with all those amazing tracks to record. Still, you would think Nads might have found time to catch up with old friends - like her ex-bandmates. The perfect opportunity might have been the launch of Nicola's make-up collection at the Mandarin Oriental, where Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola looked thick as thieves. Celebritree wonders: would you buy make-up from this woman?

Nadine and Cheryl - the rift deepens?

Ah! This photo was taken back when the girls didn't have a care in the world, and would happily share a break (and a Kit--Kat). It's a different story now, as Cheryl and Nadine seem to be intent on avoiding each other, despite Chezza staying just 4 miles from Nadine's California home. Nadine's dad has told Heat magazine how hurt his daughter is that Cheryl's been so close and hasn't even picked up the phone to arrange to meet up. Meanwhile, other sources are saying that Nadine hosted a barbecue at the weekend and didn't invite Cheryl (seems a bit harsh, it's not like she'd have eaten Nads out of house and home...)

Girls Aloud update

So, Nadine Coyle has decided to keep up the momentum on her assault on the media, as the news emerged today that she has apparently ditched footballer boyfriend, Jason Bell, to focus on her career and that elusive solo album. That's it on the Nadine front - still no sign of the actual music - but Celebritree is sure she will keep us all captivated as she drip feeds us details of her eagerly anticipated solo music and her heart-breaking split. (Do any Celebritree readers have the feeling that her face looks stuck onto someone else's body in this photo?!)
Meanwhile, fellow GA-er and old hand at media manipulation, Chezza, showed that she's well on the road to recovery and doesn't look to be facing the relapse the media were fearing. She and Derek headed out for a spot of retail therapy - Cheryl bought herself some sensible Nike Airs - perhaps she needs a break from her heels? She has also been out to the cinema with Derek, to see Angelina's new movie, Salt.

Phewee! Nadine's album is due out in November

Phew! Don't worry, Nadine hasn't forgotten all about her album. It's now slated for release in November (hmm, wasn't it ready and due out, like, months ago, pet?)
The good news is that it's brilliant (of course) with some "huge pop songs". William Orbit has sprinkled his stardust on Nadine's warblings and apparently some of the performances are "Tina Turner-esque". Well, Nadine certainly has the legs for a bit of a Tina performance...

Derek saved Cheryl's life?

No fresh pics of Cheryl since her arrival in the States - so afraid it's another one in that dodgy all-in-one track suit. Apparently she and 'friend', Derek, are staying at Simon Cowell's mansion while she continues her recovery. Supposedly, Cheryl is eternally grateful to Derek, crediting him with saving her life. All the doctors - and Cheryl herself - just thought she was suffering from a severe dose of flu/exhaustion when she collapsed last month, so she was sent home from hospital. Doctor Derek, however, monitored her closely and insisted that she return to hospital when her condition took a turn for the worse. He apparently demanded that she have blood tests, resulting in her diagnosis as one of the worst cases of malaria that her doctor had ever seen. Hmm, so not flu then....
Cheryl may (or may not) be house-hunting while she's in California. And she may (or may not) be in negotiations to appear on Dancing with the Stars (not sure how that would work - surely the only things that make her a star Stateside are her friendships with Derek and Will?)
Whilst she's Stateside, maybe Cheryl could do worse than meet up with her bandmate, Nadine (if she's not too busy working on her invisible solo album). It seems that reports that the band are to record a new Girls Aloud album as a foursome are wide of the mark - as all five of the girls are contractually obliged by their record company to record another GA album. So looks like Nadine needs to build a few bridges with the other girls, or this new album could result in the worst in-studio spats since The Beatles were working on Let It Be (and probably not quite as good, either).

And then there were four...

Rumours are rife that Girls Aloud ARE set to reform, but as a foursome! And guess who's out in the cold - yep, the papers are suggesting that Nadine could be given the elbow. Their publicists deny it, as does Nadine, who says that they are just enjoying time on their own, while they're still young. She says, "everyone wants to do their own thing - Sarah with the acting, or whatever they're doing". Hmm, if you ever are interested in what your former bandmates are doing, Nadine, try picking up a paper or magazine or even reading Celebritree...
On the subject of which, the nation's sweetheart has finally been seen out and about, as she popped down to her local Starbuck's for a coffee. Apparently, she's got two round the clock nurses in the form of mum, Joan, and Derek Hough - although rumours that Dezza and Chezza are engaged are likely to be wide of the mark, in Celebritree's opinion! Still, good to see Cheryl out and about.
