Another Celeb Wedding

Although a festive romantic break in the Indian Ocean didn't seem to do the trick for her former bessie mate, Katie Price, and her husband, Alex Reid, it certainly proved a winner for Sarah Harding, whose boyfriend, Dan Crane, proposed to her on New Year's Day. The two are obviously thrilled as they sealed their love by telling the world how made up they are on Twitter. Hmm, really adds to the romance, your partner down on one knee, a diamond solitaire ring on your finger, a "yes" and then "wait, let me get my phone, I must quickly tweet all my friends, family and fans..."
So that's two Girls Aloud weddings to look forward to in 2011 - Nadine and Sarah. Who will the bridesmaids be? Presumably Katie won't be returning the favour for Sarah now that the two are no longer so close (Sarah was bridesmaid at Katie's wedding to Pete, though didn't make the cut for the Reid-Price blessing extravaganza) - although Celebritree would pay good money to see a peach taffeta face off between Katie, Cheryl and Nicola in OK! magazine...

X Factor backstage

Kimberley and Nicola were at the X Factor final on Sunday and dashed backstage to Cheryl's dressing room after the result was announced to console her for failing to win with one of her acts for the first time. The girls managed to bring a smile back to Cheryl's face - or perhaps she is just dreaming of her escape to LA where she will get to spend lots more time with Derek Hough / move in with Will.I.am, depending on which reports you read.
On the Girls Aloud front, Nadine's lack of success hasn't put off the girls - Kimberley is guest vocalling on Aggro Santos's new single (the one nobody knew from I'm a Celeb) and planning to release an album in the new year and Nicola is planning to take a break from fashion and make up (hmm probably best based on this photo) and work on some solo material too. So it really doesn't look as though Girls Aloud will be reuniting any time soon...
Elsewhere, it seems Konnie Huq has been fired from X Factor and top tips to replace her include Kimberley and Christine Bleakley...

Girls Aloud - rapprochement?

Girls Aloud (minus Nadine - of course - she has slunk back to the States following the 'success' of her single) were out in force at the Mirror's Pride of Britain awards last night. Although Nadine was out of the picture, Girls Aloud fans will be pleased to hear that she has at last spoken to one of her bandmates. After seeing all of the other girls together on X Factor, Nadine held out an olive branch to Cheryl and the two got together at Chezza's house to have a good old chinwag and clear the air. However, it seems Sarah, Nicola and Kimberley couldn't make the peace talks. Still maybe there's hope of a reunion yet...

No congrats for Nadine

Poor Nadine Coyle is devastated that none of her Girls Aloud bandmates have been in touch to congratulate her on her engagement to Jason Bell. As Nadine busies herself on the promo trail, the other girls are deafening her with their silence. Some nasty rumours have it that the other girls see the engagement as a publicity stunt to support her new single. Another source says that Nads is desperate for her first solo single to be a success as she can't face the thought of going back to the band. Hopefully the raunchy video will do the business for her!
Meanwhile ex bandmate, Kimberley, has waxed lyrical in her column for OK magazine how much she loves Cheryl's new single and demure ballet video. Now Celebritree really does think that's a snub.

Girls Aloud - remain estranged?

As Cheryl suns herself in California, picking up a transatlantic accent (allegedly - though hard to imagine Geordie with an American twang), Nadine is heading back Stateside, having laid down the tracks for her solo album (at last - after all that talk, there's finally some action!)
Nadine said goodbye to some bloke on her own doorstep (he was wearing a towelling robe and in her house, so obviously a story there), then headed to Heathrow, showing off her very slim legs in some shiny leggings. It's been a bit of a fleeting trip back to London - just under a week - and was doubtless very busy, with all those amazing tracks to record. Still, you would think Nads might have found time to catch up with old friends - like her ex-bandmates. The perfect opportunity might have been the launch of Nicola's make-up collection at the Mandarin Oriental, where Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola looked thick as thieves. Celebritree wonders: would you buy make-up from this woman?

And then there were four...

Rumours are rife that Girls Aloud ARE set to reform, but as a foursome! And guess who's out in the cold - yep, the papers are suggesting that Nadine could be given the elbow. Their publicists deny it, as does Nadine, who says that they are just enjoying time on their own, while they're still young. She says, "everyone wants to do their own thing - Sarah with the acting, or whatever they're doing". Hmm, if you ever are interested in what your former bandmates are doing, Nadine, try picking up a paper or magazine or even reading Celebritree...
On the subject of which, the nation's sweetheart has finally been seen out and about, as she popped down to her local Starbuck's for a coffee. Apparently, she's got two round the clock nurses in the form of mum, Joan, and Derek Hough - although rumours that Dezza and Chezza are engaged are likely to be wide of the mark, in Celebritree's opinion! Still, good to see Cheryl out and about.

Girls Aloud - no reunion soon

Well, it seems that much longed for reunion of Girls Aloud isn't on the cards any time soon. Fresh from telling the world that she has only slept with two boyfriends, blabbermouth, Kimberley Walsh, has now shared with the media that the girls are all enjoying their own projects so much that they have decided to extend the break until at least March or April next year. (Hmm, some girls might be enjoying projects, whilst others must just be enjoying twiddling their thumbs...)
Meanwhile, Cheryl has told Ashley to stay away from her sick bed. Hmm, from his recent holiday snaps, Ash didn't look like he was in a hurry to tend to any poorly ex...

Cheryl home and ready for visitors

Good news readers! Cheryl Cole has finally left hospital and is continuing her recuperation at her Hurtmore home. Mother, Joan, is keeping a vigil by her bedside and guarding her daughter to ensure she keeps to her doctors' advice (Chezza is facing an alcohol and sex ban, allegedly) and to protect her from any unwanted visitors...
Talking of which, Ashley is back home in Blighty after his lads' holiday in the US. It seems Derek is still hanging around, overcome with guilt that he is to blame for the malaria, whilst Will.i.am has been showering Cheryl with bouquets of flowers and is said to be planning a trip over to visit.
Derek's Dancing with the Stars partner, Nicole Scherzinger, has extended her stay on X Factor to cover for Cheryl and Dannii's absences, although apparently Cheryl is keen that her Girls Aloud mate, Kimberly Walsh, should keep her judge's seat warm until she's fully recovered.
Talking of Girls Aloud, Joan is keen for her daughter to catch up with her bandmates. However, it seems unlikely that Nadine is going to be hot on the heels of Ashley and Will over the Atlantic. Apparently the first Nadine knew of her bandmate's brush with death was when fans informed her via Twitter (Celebritree wonders is anyone ever picks up the phone any more, or even emails, does everything just get announced via Twitter?), although, obviously she's very concerned, as her granddad had it. So, can't see a Girls Aloud reunion on the horizon any time soon, especially with Cheryl's solo album release postponed (it was scheduled for October), which makes Celebritree wonder - where is Nadine's long-promised solo effort?

Strictly Update

Well, further to the rumours of some of the dancers being demoted and Bryan Fortuna (and his strange lego hair) waltzing out in a strop, there are now rumours that Brucie has failed to sign up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, waiting to see if the BBC can manage to pull some decent stars this year and really take on the powerful Simon Cowell machine that is the X Factor.
Celebritree is not sure whether the current rumoured signings are enough to make Bruce sign on the dotted line: after hearing Victoria Beckham, Kimberley Walsh and Richard Madeley's names bandied around, will Patsy Kensit and Matthew Wright really cut the mustard?

Strictly Rumours?

The BBC have apparently decided to up the ante in their recruiting of celebs for this year's Strictly Come Dancing. Bruce still hasn't signed on the dotted line, apparently. However, rumour has it that Gary Lineker and his new wife, Danielle Bux (who is anxious to raise her profile as she'd like a TV presenting career - wouldn't we all, love?) are about to sign up for the show.
According to The Sun, Jonathan Ross's resignation from the Beeb has come as a blessing to Strictly fans - it gives the show a bigger budget and they have high hopes of recruiting some big name stars (not that WAG Danielle quite falls into that category).
Here are the others supposedly on the 'wanted' list:
Victoria Beckham - please do it Victoria! Can't see it though - she'd be more likely to do the US version...
Amy Winehouse - really?!
Chelsea Clinton - she'll be a newly-wed so seems unlikely.
Monica Lewinsky - what is she doing now?!
Kimberley Walsh - quite possible, especially with Nadine dragging her heels over Girls Aloud's reunion. (Where IS your solo album, Nadine?)
Patsy Kensit - unemployed, separated, has time on her hands.
Lembit Opik - unemployed, like Gary, probably has a partner "who wants to raise her profile" - highly likely!

Nadine dropped from Girls Aloud?

Rumours are continuing to circulate about the future of Girls Aloud - as regular Celebritree readers know, the girls are scheduled to get back together later this year to fulfil their 3 album deal with their record company. However, seems that the other girls are starting to come to terms with the idea that their next album and tour might be as a fourpiece. Apparently Nadine has indicated that she has no plans to get back in the studio with the other girls this year and is busy on her solo material (which still doesn't seem to have seen the light of day despite being amazing and in great abundance...)

The others are all still super-chummy, rallying around Cheryl in her hour of need, but Nadine seems to be out of the picture. Let's hope that Nadine doesn't go off the rails as previous 'first to leave a 5 piece band' celebs: Robbie and Geri...

Girls Aloud - split rumours

How much can one woman take? Rumours abound that Cheryl Cole may be facing another split in her life - having faced down her husband, it is believed that now all is not well in the Girls Aloud camp and their "year out" may be more permanent than expected.

The stories centre on tensions between Cheryl and Nadine. It seems Nadine was not quick to comfort Cheryl when the latter took refuge in LA following the breakdown of her marriage (well, with Sinitta, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, some chap from Dancing with the Stars and Will.i.am wading in with shoulders to cry on, Nadine's bony shoulder wouldn't stand a chance!)

Nadine has been busily beavering away in the States on her own solo career (she's apparently recorded 40 songs - Heaven help us! No wonder she's not had time to eat...) but time is running out for her to actually release and promote them, with the girls scheduled to reunite for the rest of their 3 album deal in July. Sources would have us believe that she's seething with jealousy at Cheryl's runaway chart success, although Nadine's 'friends' deny this: "Nadine tries to keep very private and believes that her success will come through her talent and not any kind of media circus which might surround someone's private life." MIAOW!

So, while Nadine and Cheryl battle it out as the superlightfeatherweights of the pop charts, what of the other members of Girls Aloud?

Sarah Harding now has a fledgling career as an actress, having nailed a demanding role in the second St Trinian's movie and BBC series Bad Day. She is well established on The Sun's celebrity caners list and has recently launched her own nightclub, Kanaloa, with her boyfriend (well, if you're going to spend your life falling out of nightclubs, might as well be your own...).

Nicola Roberts, meanwhile, is taking herself far more seriously. Smile, Nicola, please smile! She has launched her own make-up range for pale ladies and recently received critical acclaim for a BBC documentary on the dangers of tanning. She's been strutting her stuff all over London Fashion Week and has been announced as the face of Vivienne Westwood!

So, what of Kimberley Walsh? Well... She's the face of New Look!

Now, I know she doesn't demand as much press attention as the others, but, having retained a relatively normal body shape and her down-to-earth Yorkshire charm, she is certainly Celebritree's favourite member of Britain's most successful girl group.
