Tweedy goes down

Oh dear. Cheryl's brother, Andrew Tweedy, has finally had his day in court, and it didn't turn out well for him. After admitting to his part in an armed robbery that netted him and his fellow gang members a grand total of £1,000, Andrew has been sent down for six years. It seems Cheryl was busy on other engagements, so didn't make it up to Newcastle Crown Court to see her brother's big moment. Younger brother, Garry, also missed out, as he was living it up in Las Vegas with Derek Hough, who is keeping the world up to date with their exploits via Tiwtter. Following the verdict, it was revealed that Andrew has a list of previous as long as his sister's flowing hair extensions...

Cheryl gets the elbow

After what seems to be months of speculation, it has finally (apparently) been confirmed that Cheryl Cole will NOT be a judge on the new US X Factor. Instead, she will have a Sinitta type role as Simon's "little helper". It seems that the main stumbling blocks have been her Geordie accent - despite elocution lesson (it seems it's against US TV regulations to have presenters that nobody understands...) and the fact that very few people Stateside have a clue who she is. Rumour has it that Naomi Campbell is being lined up as judge instead. Clearly US audiences can cope with the sound of Streatham rather better than Chezza's Geordie lilt. Still, on the plus side, it does mean that Cheryl can stick closer to home, as she has sworn to take time out to look after her brother, Andrew, who has been warned to give up alcohol or he risks liver failure. Having had many drug convictions, can't see him being able to hang out in LA with his little sis.
As if Cheryl hasn't got enough to worry about, she seems to be making life even more complicated for herself by regularly calling her ex, Ashley Cole. Now it seems that nice boy, Derek Hough, is getting bored hanging around like Cheryl's lapdog and may have found a new girl of his own - a co-star in some new dance movie he's working on. And earlier this week, Cheryl was spotted looking very flirty with another blonde chap - who turned out to be her hair technician (so clearly key in her life). She also has admitted to a soft spot for star of the BRITs, Tinie Tempah. Although Cheryl left the awards ceremony without any silverware for her mantelpiece, it seems that she did leave with Tinie's phone number and is keen to work with him as they both try to break the US market.

Cheryl keeping it real

Cheryl Cole has recently moved into her new home and has proven just what a down to earth girl she is by phoning up Enfield council to order her own wheelie bin. Good to know she's found time to get these tedious chores out of the way, whilst still trying to work out what is happening in the US - the latest rumours are that she might be taking on Sinitta's role, as Simon's mentor/companion. If that's true, no doubt Sinitta will be furiously tweeting sometime soon.
If she does get a US X Factor role, Cheryl also stands to get a £1million contract with Pepsi, apparently.
However, her plans for Valentine's Day are not clear as she has told Derek Hough to back off amid rumours that she is seriously considering taking Ashley back, despite warnings from Simon Cowell that she would lose all credibility if she does.

Cheryl earns some pocket money

Cheryl has popped over to Italy this weekend to earn herself a nice little bit of pin money, courtesy of Audi. She performed at their staff party, pocketing £250,000 for the hour long in Venice.
Clearly Elton John wouldn't have enjoyed that particular party, as his sharp tongue has finally re-emerged after several weeks of cuddly baby talk. Elton has been laying into his fellow pop stars, including airing his opinion that Cheryl's music is "crap". She got off lightly compared to Kim Kardashian, who Elton described as a "stupid old tart".
Anyway, back to Cheryl: it seems Derek has been taking his girlfriend's musci to heart, as he is preparing to "fight for this love" as rumours continue that Ashley and Cheryl are continuing to share cosy phone conversations...

Nadine's ambitions take another knock

Nadine Coyle and her fiance, Jason Bell, have had a knock back in Nadine's ambition to be the next Angelina Jolie. It seems Nadine was keen to adopt a Thai orphan but her application has been turned down. The knock has hit Nadine hard, after the rather feeble reaction to her solo career ambitions last year.
However, Nadine has picked herself up and has apparently found an alternative as she is taking part in a "big sister" scheme, where she gets to mentor an underprivileged child. No doubt Cheryl will be looking to make her own mothering achievements sometime soon then - subject to Ma Tweedy's approval, of course.

Chezza contemplating a return to Ash?

Well, a week is a long time in politics, and Cheryl Cole's life, it would seem. As Cheryl confirms she's staying Cole by renewing her passport in her married name, rather than reverting to her maiden name of Tweedy (even fewer people in the US have heard of Cheryl Tweedy than have any idea of Cheryl Cole's identity), it seems that things may be cooling off between her and Derek, as he has shown a distinct disdain for her love of tattoos (and there's no hiding from them, especially after the latest monstrosity, that appears to stretch from her lower back to her upper thighs). Still, one man who apparently isn't put off by Cheryl's love of body ink, is ex-hubby, Ashley. Following his break up with Playboy bunny, Kayla, he and Cheryl have met up at their marital home to see if they still have any common ground. Allegedly Ash is desperate to persuade his ex-wife to stay in the UK and, surprisingly, Ma Tweedy seems to be siding with Ash - clearly she hasn't taken to the condo Dezza plans for her in LA! It seems Cheryl still holds a bit of a torch for Ash and may be persuaded to abandon her burning ambition to take on the States, but her friends are all keen for her to make the clean break. Phew! Could Cheryl be about to blow it all?
Still, in case Cheryl is worrying that she is no longer the nation's sweetheart, no doubt she will be comforted by the results to two surveys (errr, WHO arranges these surveys? And why? And has anyone ever been asked any of these random questions by someone carrying out one of these surveys?!): apparently Cheryl is the celebrity that most people would like to name their dog after and she beats Britney Spears to be the celebrity that people would most like to employ as a babysitter... (Do these people not like their children? Celebritree knows that they've since cleaned up their act, but Brit practically had to be sectioned and lost custody of her own kids, whilst Cheryl appeared in court on assault charges. Surely there are more suitable celeb babysitters? Err, Katie Price, Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham...?!)

Does Katie have the X Factor?

Although it's still not entirely clear whether the American producers of the US X Factor can understand a word that Geordie, Cheryl Cole, is saying (and therefore may be considering not giving her a place on the judging panel, instead favouring Katy Perry or Nicole Scherzinger), this hasn't prevented rumours about who is in line to replace Chezza on the UK version of the show. It seems ITV are desperate to keep Simon Cowell in place, and he recently signed a contract committing himself to the 2011 show at least, so Simon will be bouncing backwards and forwards across the Atlantic. When asked who he would like to have in the judging line up alongside him, Simon surprised us all by suggesting Katie Price! Now, Katie has previously suggested that she would love this gig, so this could be her big chance to turn public opinion round. Hmmm.
Celebritree has no doubt that Katie has the quick mind to come up with some acerbic put-downs for the wannabe pop stars, but considering she thought it a good idea to launch a singing career herself (despite a distinct lack of tunefulness), Celebritree is not sure that she's really in a position to judge who has the singing capability to make it to the top.
Still, one thing is for sure, can't see Katie and Dannii hitting it off, so expect lots more fireworks next year!
In other Katie news, it seems that she bought a secret country pad seven months ago, which her step-dad has been doing up, so even though Alex is refusing to move out of their marital home, Katie and her kids do have other housing options. Alex doesn't seem to have got the message and still isn't keen on the whole divorce idea, although some sources are now saying that he will accept the split on condition Katie buys him a flat. Presumably he's thinking luxury bachelor pad overlooking the Thames, rather than some studio in the suburbs...
And now it seems Alex may have had an accident after an ambulance was called out to their home whilst Alex as left home alone...

Cheryl contemplates a new start

As Cheryl contemplates her new start in the US, it seems she has been having some heart to hearts with new love, Derek Hough. And, from press reports, it is likely that poor Derek won't like what she's had to say. It's already been reported that Ma Tweedy didn't like Derek's choice of condo for her precious daughter, and didn't consider it safe enough. So now Cheryl is looking for her own place for her and her mum, apparently keen to be close to mentor, Simon Cowell. She has also told Derek in no uncertain terms that she doesn't plan on marrying him - the scars from her marriage to Ashley apparently run too deep. Still, she is feeling broody and would like to start a family, which won't sit well with Derek, who was brought up a Mormon, so out of wedlock kids aren't likely to be on his agenda.
Still, Dezza is still keen to show his dedication to Cheryl, as he is apparently considering giving up his role on Dancing with the Stars - he has now won three times and is reigning champion, so is said to be looking for new challenges (well, it doesn't come more challenging than keeping Ma Tweedy happy) and is anxious to be there for Cheryl as she takes on her big move.
Cheryl will probably be feeling a bit chlaustraphobic at that - her vision for breaking the US doesn't involve being known as someone's girlfriend. She apparently wants to be seen as a "strong single woman" with a very scary mother, presumably...

Ashley back on his own

Despite claiming at the start of their relationship, just 5 weeks ago, that she hoped he was "the one" and rumours that she had already moved her stuff into Cheryl's empty wardrobes, it seems it's all over for Kayla Collins and Ashley Cole. They were apparently heard having a fierce row after attending a P Diddy party together.
Still, clearly Kayla is not one to let the grass grow under her feet and seems to have moved on already, as she was seen leaving Deuces nightclub in Essex last night with its owner, The Only Way is Essex star/love rat, Mark Wright. Whether it was the right decision remains to be seen, as it seems he showed her the glamour of the local McDonald's on their way home, and Kayla is feeling somewhat the worse for wear this morning.
Celebritree is left wondering why Mark, who probably had the pick of the women in his club, chose to go home with someone wearing leggings that look as though they were left over from a Laura Ashley sale circa 1985...
Still, Ashley, Kerry Katona and Katie Price are both available, in case you're feeling lonely....

Chezza and Dezza - the holiday is over

Cheryl and Derek are now back from their new year holiday in South Africa. They flew back in style, with the nation's sweetheart now considered worthy of a visit to the Windsor lounge at Heathrow airport. This exclusive area is normally reserved for the PM, royal family and any visiting royals, Presidents and the Beckhams, but Cheryl enjoyed the privileges offered for just £3,000.
The holiday seemed to be a resounding success (and hopefully no mosquito bites this time) with the pair keeping to themselves apart from the Hogmanay party. Instead they preferred to have nights in watching some of Cheryl's favourite DVDs - including Marley & Me and Dirty Dancing. The only problems on their holiday seem to have been Cheryl and Ashley's text exchanges, and the fact that Derek is a bit of a messy pup, whilst Cheryl is said to be verging on OCD. Still, good to know that they have oral hygiene in common: apparently they are both obsessed with brushing their teeth...
Meanwhile, despite the texting, Ashley does seem to have moved on. Barely had Cheryl moved out of Hurtmore House, before Ash had moved I'm a Celeb star and former Playboy bunny, Kayla Collins, in!

Another Celeb Wedding

Although a festive romantic break in the Indian Ocean didn't seem to do the trick for her former bessie mate, Katie Price, and her husband, Alex Reid, it certainly proved a winner for Sarah Harding, whose boyfriend, Dan Crane, proposed to her on New Year's Day. The two are obviously thrilled as they sealed their love by telling the world how made up they are on Twitter. Hmm, really adds to the romance, your partner down on one knee, a diamond solitaire ring on your finger, a "yes" and then "wait, let me get my phone, I must quickly tweet all my friends, family and fans..."
So that's two Girls Aloud weddings to look forward to in 2011 - Nadine and Sarah. Who will the bridesmaids be? Presumably Katie won't be returning the favour for Sarah now that the two are no longer so close (Sarah was bridesmaid at Katie's wedding to Pete, though didn't make the cut for the Reid-Price blessing extravaganza) - although Celebritree would pay good money to see a peach taffeta face off between Katie, Cheryl and Nicola in OK! magazine...

The holiday continues

Chezza and Dezza are now in the second week of their sunshine trip in South Africa and still seem to be having a ball. Despite the news that he has found a new love, apparently Ashley was left "close to tears" when he saw pictures of his ex-wife cosying up with Derek at a Hogmanay party. Apparently the exes had exchanged Christmas gifts just before Cheryl headed off into the sun with her new man and have been exchanging texts late into the night during her holiday, much to Derek's frustration. Celebritree wonders if Ashley's goodies measured up to Derek's £10,000 diamond bracelet that he apparently presented to Cheryl.
Still, her expensive new jewellery was not on show as she and Derek hit the shops (either he's very patient, or those gay rumours might have a whiff of truth about them, if Derek can match Cheryl's passion for shopping). Cheryl showed her usual ability for dressing appropriately as she stepped (or should that be tripped?) out in a skimpy shiny shirt dress and sky-high heels (that she had to remove as they were too high even for Cheryl). She was also wearing a friendship beaded bracelet, which is apparently sold to raise funds to fight malaria. Her alleged new beau, Derek, was wearing an identical bracelet, in a further declaration of his love (no doubt). Best get yourself one of those then Ash!
If one thing is guaranteed to make Derek run for the Hollywood Hils, it's comments from one of Cheryl's "close friends" in this week's New! magazine, "She says she can’t wait any longer and wants a baby – even if it means doing it before her and Derek get married. She’s incredibly broody.” So keen is Cheryl to create a mini-me, that she has appanrently even started looking for nursery equipment online and wants to emulate her frenemy, Dannii Minogue in combining motherhood with her career... Well, it would certainly prove to any doubters out there that she and Derek are the real deal and not a publicity "fauxmance" as some cynics are claiming.

New Year, new start 3?

Cheryl Cole spent new year in South Africa with Derek Hough. The pair have been spotted enjoying romantic strolls along the beach, and enjoying a boogie at a new year's eve house party.
Some reports are claiming the pair enjoyed a very public snog at midnight. Could Cheryl's new year resolution be to bring her romance out into the open, ahead of her new start in the US?

A new playmate for Ash?

It seems that Ashley Cole has found himself a new playmate - former Playboy Playmate and, more recently known as star of I'm a Celebrity, Kayla Collins. Apparently Kayla was keen to meet a British guy, thinking them so cute. Perhaps to this end, she threw a party at the Funky Buddha nightclub and Ashley was one of those so-called hot Brits in attendance. The two chatted, hit it off and have apparently been on a couple of dates since. In fact, Kayla think that Ashley could be "the one" - err, don't rush in too quickly, Kayla! Ashley will be relieved that Cheryl has given his new relationship her blessing, saying that she is happy that he has moved on. Phew! Although maybe Cheryl just has other worries: as she prepares for her big move to the US, she is apparently feeling threatened by Leona Lewis. It seems Leona is wanting a change in direction and is keen to work with Will.i.am. Cheryl isn't keen on the idea, as she is anxious to establish herself on the other side of the Atlantic, and doesn't want another of Simon's protégées getting in her way.

X Factor backstage

Kimberley and Nicola were at the X Factor final on Sunday and dashed backstage to Cheryl's dressing room after the result was announced to console her for failing to win with one of her acts for the first time. The girls managed to bring a smile back to Cheryl's face - or perhaps she is just dreaming of her escape to LA where she will get to spend lots more time with Derek Hough / move in with Will.I.am, depending on which reports you read.
On the Girls Aloud front, Nadine's lack of success hasn't put off the girls - Kimberley is guest vocalling on Aggro Santos's new single (the one nobody knew from I'm a Celeb) and planning to release an album in the new year and Nicola is planning to take a break from fashion and make up (hmm probably best based on this photo) and work on some solo material too. So it really doesn't look as though Girls Aloud will be reuniting any time soon...
Elsewhere, it seems Konnie Huq has been fired from X Factor and top tips to replace her include Kimberley and Christine Bleakley...

Cher Lloyd leaves X Factor with a bang

Unsurprsingly, Cher Lloyd was the first of the X Factor finalists to be voted out, despite the fawning attentions of Simon and Cheryl. Clearly she wasn't going to win, as the public just didn't like her (or her attitude) enough, so not quite sure why the producers/Lord Cowell went to the trouble of seemingly changing the rules to get her to make the final. Still, she got to duet with Will.i.am, and she even managed to avoid blubbing when she was told she was first out.
Seemingly it was a different story backstage, as she threw another of her infamous tantrums, claiming that she didn't "give a f***" as she would be the biggest thing ever to come out of X factor anyway and that she knew they'd all hated her from the beginning, but with Cheryl's support, she's sure she'll make it big.
So, as the nation awaits to see who will make it to be Champion this year, former X Factor winner, Steve is playing to Cafe Neros around the country - audiences of about 20 people! Still, Celebritree assumes that that still beats his previous job, as bin man. Steve claims that Lord Cowell offered him £12,500 to go away, and that he wasn't supported in his career at all. The £1million record deal one off for the winner is a sham, allegedly, as he received nothing like that, and, in fact, 16 acts have been signed during 6 years of X Factor shows. Errr, but how many of them can anyone actually name a year or so later...?!
So, will Cher make it big? Or will Cheryl head off to the States with Derek, Will.i.am and Lord Cowell (ooh, and mum carrying her luggage five paces behind) or will she stand by her mini-me and help her hit the big time? Only time will tell...

The Plot Thickens

So... Following yesterday's blog entry, it seems that things at X Factor were not quite what they seemed. In fact, having seen that "the nation's sweetheart's favourite", Cher Lloyd, was in the bottom two, it seems the producers / Simon Cowell had a change of heart and decided that the judges would have the final decision on who should go through to the final. And what do you know? Cher is through! Poor old Mary is off back to Tesco in Ireland, whilst the diva remains, with more strops to follow this week, no doubt.
Interesting also that for the first time, there are to be four acts in this year's final. Some had suggested that the bottom two acts would both go out last night, in order to reduce to a final three. Clearly, that was rethought too.
Cheryl looked to be showing the strain as she left the studio last night.
Whatever happens, Cher looks set to be the big winner of this year's X Factor as rumour has it that she is set to sign a $2 million record deal and her first album will feature a duet with her idol, Cheryl.

Cheryl lets her hair down

After having to deal with the diva in her team at X Factor, Cheryl Cole last night headed out to the Red Room in Mayfair with her Girls Aloud band mates (except Nadine, of course), Fergie and Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas and the omnipresent, Joan (Chezza's mum).
Cheryl wasn't exactly attired for the freezing conditions, although it looks like some gentleman has offered his jacket to her as she headed home. Fergie was looking far more snug in a furry coat, that looked like it may have been borrowed from Sesame Street's Big Bird.

Cher's Lethal Weapon

As the X Factor reached its quarter final stage this weekend, some of the contestants are starting to feel the strain. Apparently Cher Lloyd threw a wobbly during rehearsals after she failed to complete her songs properly. She broke down in tears and then shrieked at the camera woman, "Get out of my face!" Mentor, Cheryl, had to step in and take her out for lunch (probably they shared a lettuce leaf or something) to give her chance to calm down.
It seems Cher's diva act had an encore last night after the show. Knowing that this week it is all down to the audience vote, with the judges apparently not having the power to save their favourites, Cher isn't feeling too confident of her dream to make the finals. This (so-called "shocking") photo shows Cher flipping out at one of the show's assistants as she brandishes a lethal weapon - or rather, a spoon, waving it in the long-suffering assistant's face.
All will be revealed this evening, so the wait is nearly over for poor Cher...

Poor Nadine

Nadine is now back home in LA, taking comfort from her family, fiancé and pets after her debut solo album sold only 5,000 copies in its first week (suddenly the exclusive deal with Tesco doesn't seem like quite such a great scoop). Nadine and her dad were seen taking the dogs for a walk, with Nadine looking pretty glum. Apparently she had really hoped that her move to LA would really kickstart her career, but now she feels that she's going nowhere. Still, Nadine, at least you have a hunky fiance, Cheryl can't curl up with her career on a cold night... Not that Nadine will get many cold nights in California!
