The big day approaches
Still, anyone who does rock up will apparently be treated to a 'live' rendition of Katie's new single 'Free to love again'. Bet they can't wait...

What are the WAGs up to now?
Well, it seems that Christine Bleakley (who after much dilly-dallying - including a night out to celebrate staying with the BBC, has finally signed her life away to ITV) and Toni Terry have followed Carly Cole out to South Africa. There were rumours that Toni wasn't planning to go out unless England reached the quarter-finals, but perhaps she has decided to cut her losses - or
else lose out on a big holiday, based on England's performances so far.

WAG update
Abbey Clancy, girlfriend of Peter Crouch, is busy with her career whilst her boyf's busy trying to score in South Africa. Apparently Abbey is keen to spread her... wings and would love to do some modelling Stateside. Hmm, not really sure that her stint on that ITV show with James Corden is going to cut the mustard to hit the big time...She has also revealed how the England hotel has been invaded by baboons (hmm, Celebritree can just imagine the jokes about recruiting them) and that Peter Crouch's poor parents were victims when 3 baboons invaded their room taking anything they fancied with them.
Another WAG, Stevie G's missus, Alex Curran, has revealed that she is often mistaken for Ms Clancy. This cannot be good news for poor Abbey and her burgeoning career....

World Cup Anticipation Builds...
So, David Beckham has apparently already headed off on his flight from LAX to South Africa for his role at the World Cup. Celebritree is not sure exactly what that role is, other than to let the rest of the team benefit from his experience of losing in these tournaments previously. Still, it will be nice to see him, especially if he gets to talk to the press (so much more camera friendly than Messrs Terry and Rooney - let's face it). Anyone who was as disappointed as Celebritree that we won't be seeing the Beckham legs in the 2010 Tournament will no doubt have taken some comfort from Tom Cruise - who claims his friend will certainly be fit for the 2014 World Cup - at the ripe old age of 39. Clearly, despite his many hours spent at matches with the Beckhams, Cruise has completely
failed to understand "soccer" at all... So, what of that other big World Cup talking point - the England WAGs? Well, as Celebritree reported, they have been told to keep a much lower profile after all their antics in Baden-Baden 4 years ago. Indeed, new high-profile WAG Christine Bleakley will be busy with The One Show for the duration. She and Frank went out to bid each other a fond farewell at The Dorchester last night - apparently a favourite haunt of theirs. Apparently Christine is keen to build a relationship with Frank's ex and mother of his children, Elen Rives. No doubt Frank will be thrilled at the thought of that whilst he's occupied in South
Africa...

Africa...Most of the other WAGs are following orders and are staying home although a couple are rumoured to be flouting the rules. These culprits are rumoured to be Alex Curran (wife of Stevie Gerrard - she's not one for rules - certainly not those of the fashion variety) and the classy Chantelle Tagoe (pictured here for those unfamiliar with Emile Heskey's wife. Apparently they met whilst she was working as a waitress in a lap-dancing bar. No doubt he picked her out, shook her up and turned her around etc.)

New mums, Coleen and Carly have decided to stay home - although they are planning to fly out if England reach the semis (nothing like a bit of optimism). The most forgiving woman in the world, Toni Terry, has decided she'll head for South Africa if they reach the quarter finals (slightly less optimistic Toni - but who can blame her after all she's been through...)Wednesday, 12 May 2010
Travelling light
Alex and Steven Gerrard are shrugging off rumours that all is not well in their marriage and jetting off on holiday before Stevie has to head to South Africa for England World Cup duties. Celebritree is wondering how long they are going to the luxury resort in Dubai for with all those cases... Or perhaps Alex is leaving plenty of space for shopping. Celebritree is sure she can pick up some classy accessories in Dubai to complement all her understated Cricket gear...If England manage to put on a reasonable showing at this year's World Cup, Alex will have to accept that the couple's third anniversary celebrations will have to be postponed. I'm sure the fact that their new home in Portugal will be ready this summer for their post-World Cup holiday, will soften the blow somewhat...
